| Q:
1 - Why does it keep asking me to input my password? A: You might have the caps
lock key on, or entering the wrong/misspelled password, or you locked
yourself out of the internet by entering the incorrect password 3 or more
times. Our authentication software is configured to lock out an account
once the account has been denied access three consecutive times. This
is designed to prevent hackers. We recommend that you call technical support
to verify your password if you have forgotten it. |
| Q:
2 - Why do I get an error of: Unable to establish a dial up connection? A: You have severed the software
connection from your internet browser to the dial up networking connection.
You must go to "My Computer", then to "Control Panel", and double clickes
on "Internet Options". Double clickes on "Internet Options". When it opens
a new dialog window, click on "VNI Internet Services" and click on "Set
default" button. Click on "OK" button when you are finish. That will connect
you to the internet. |
| Q:
3 - How do I change my password? A: Please call us and let
us know what you would like the new password to be. |
| Q:
4 - What does it mean when it says, check your TCP/IP settings? A: You must go to "My Computer",
"Control Panel", "Network", and make sure that "Client for Microsoft Networks"
is the first thing in the configuration window. Then scroll down to TCP/IP
(highlight) then click on Properties. Make sure all the configurations
are in there correctly as specified in Check Your Network Settings section
of Help On-Line. |
| Q:
5 - If I have a 56k modem, do I have to change any of my settings? A: No, you do not have to
change anything. The only thing you might want to check is your maximum
modem speed. You need to go to "My Computer", "Dial Up Networking", then
right click on "VNI Internet Services" icon. Select "Properties" in the
open window. Click on "Configure" button. Look at the maximum speed, and
make sure that it reads 115200. |
| Q:
6 - When trying to log in, it won't dial the number. Why? A: Go to the internet properties
panel by right button clicking on the internet icon found on the desktop.
From the menu that appears select "Properties". Click on the "Connection"
tab found along the top of the internet properties panel. Check that connection
settings are correct. |
| Q:
7 - What does it mean when I get an error, "unable to locate modem", or
you can not hear the modem working? A: Try a cold boot on your
system. Turn off your system, wait 10 seconds, then turn back on the system.
Then try to get on the internet again. |
