How to Manually Create a Dial-Up Connection in Macintosh OS 8

• Insure that your computer is on.
• Locate the Assistants Folder on your hard drive.
• Press on Internet Setup Assistant as shown below.
  
• Click on the Update Button.
  
• Click the Right Arrow on the bottom.
  
• Select "Add Internet configuration"
• Click on the Right Arrow on the bottom.
  
• Input VNI Internet Access as the name of the configuration.
• Insure that Modem is selected for How you will be connecting.
• Click the Right Arrow on the bottom.
  
• Select what Modem you are using.
• Select the Port that this modem is connected to.
• Select to dial by Tone.
• Click the Right Arrow on the bottom.
  
• Put in a Local Phone Number in the Telephone Number Box. Click here to get Access Numbers.
• Make sure ONLY the phone number is in that box.
• Input your Username.
• Input your Password.
• Your password is Case Sensitive.
• Click the Right Arrow on the bottom.
  
• Select No for "Is there an IP address"
• Click the Right Arrow on the bottom.
  
• Input 64.68.197.50 into the DNS Box.
• Input 64.68.197.60 also in the DNS Box.
• Input Go2VNI.com in the Domain Name Box.
• Click the Right Arrow on the bottom.
  
• Enter your E-mail address in the E-mail Address Field.
• Click the Right Arrow on the bottom.
  
• Input your Email address in the first box.
• Input mail.Go2VNI.com for the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server.
• Click the Right Arrow on the bottom.
  
• Input news.Go2VNI.com in the box below.
• Click the Right Arrow on the bottom.
  
• Click on Go Ahead.
• You've now succesfully completed the Internet Setup Assistant.
• Power down your computer for about 5 minutes, then boot up and Connect.
